Ball Valve Manufacturing
Firstly, ball valve manufacturing process is divided into three aspects ,the shell, other components and the purchased part . After the casting, material properties test, solution treatment, intergranular corrosion test, machining, water pressure test for strength and air tightness test ,the degreasing treatment will be done to the shell. Other components need to go through the factory inspection of materials, stainless steel solution treatment, machining and then be processed in degreasing. After the factory re-inspection , the purchased parts will be degreased . After degreasing treatment assembly will be followed , then is the operating performance (including the measurement of torque) test, and next is 0.05MPa tightness test, and then is 1.6MPa tightness test. And finally after blowdown ,the packaging will be done.
Ball valve is evolved from the plug valve. It also has the 90 degree rotation but the ball valve is a ball with a circular through hole or passage through its axis. The ratio of the sphere to the channel should be the same, that is, when the sphere is rotated 90 degrees, the inlet and outlet should be completely spherical to cut off the flow. It only needs to rotate 90 degrees of operation and a small driving torque to close the ball valve tightly. The completely equal inner cavity provides a straight-through runner of small resistance for the media. Ball valves are generally considered to be the most suitable for direct opening and closing, but with recent developments, it has been designed to be throttling and controlling flow. The main features of the ball valve are compact structure, easy operation and maintenance, and it is not only suitable for water, solvents, acids and natural gas and other general working media, but also for medium of poor working conditions, such as oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, methane and ethylene. Ball valve body can be both a whole and a combined type.
Ball Valve Working Principle
Ball valve is used in the pipeline to cut off, distribute and change the flow direction of the medium mainly. It can be closed tightly only with a 90 degree rotation and a small turning moment. The valve is most suitable to work as the switch and block valve. Because the valve seat insert of ball valves are usually made of rubber, nylon and PTFE, its service temperature is limited by the material of valve seat insert. The cut-off effect of the ball valve is achieved by the metal ball and the plastic valve seat pressing with each other under the action of the medium (floating ball valve). Under certain contact pressure, distortion of elastic-plastic of valve seat insert occurs in some areas. This deformation can compensate for the ball's manufacturing accuracy and surface roughness to ensure the sealing performance of the ball valve. And because the seat insert of ball valve is usually made of plastic, the fire-resistant and fire-retardant performance should be considered in the choice of ball valve structure and performance, especially in petroleum, chemical, and metallurgical departments, and the equipment and pipe system of flammable and explosive media, it should pay more attention to fire resistance and fire prevention to use ball values.
